S02 Agudo Dance Company
from ‘Silk Road’ performances in Madrid, filmed by Nick Atkins
I have supported Agudo Dance Company as a rehearsal director and tour manager on an intermittent basis from 2020-2022. Having previously worked with choreographer/artistic director Jose Agudo, I had the opportunity to impart and develop the knowledge and skills I acquired while working with Jose on Selah and Carmen.
Jose’s unique choreographic style, drawing from his background in flamenco, contemporary dance and kathak, has been fascinating to encounter. It has been a wonderful platform for me to work on precision, the capacity to shift movement qualities very quickly, stamina, endurance, stage presence, and storytelling through dance.
I also had the incredible opportunity to support the Silk Road performances in Teatros del Canal, Madrid, where Jose himself was perfoming these various movement styles alongside a team of highly accomplished artists.
